Phoenix, Arizona Itinerary

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

I have been to Phoenix a few times - and there's a reason I keep returning. The weather is stunning (I prefer Fall/Spring because Summer is triple digit degrees) and there is so much to do, ESPECIALLY if you're a foodie like me. See below for my best recommendations.

Areas:

Scottsdale (my fav area)

Lunch/Dinner:

*The Montauk: A nautical themed restaurant that is gorgeous both inside and out. Near a bunch of bars so it's a perfect meal to get before hitting the town.

  • *Clam Chowder: Thyme, potato, & cracker (Literally the best Clam Chowder I've ever had)

  • Crispy Rock Shrimp: Sweet aji amarillo chili sauce

  • Lobster Mac N' Cheese: Smoked gouda, havarti, parmesan, & chives

  • Fried Chicken Sliders: Pickle, house slaw, & spicy aioli

  • Rose Sangria: Charles & Charles rosé wine, elderflower liqueur, guava, & grapefruit

  • *Georgia Border: Cinnamon-infused Tres Generaciones reposado tequila, peach, lemon, firewater, & prosecco

*Kyoto: Arizona's older Japanese restaurant - and for very good reason. This place had great ambiance and amazing food. Would definitely recommend with a group of friends.

  • *Goyza Potstickers: Pork dumplings served with house spicy ponzu sauce

  • Rainbow Roll

  • *Spicy Tuna: One of the BEST I have ever had

  • Hibachi

  • Dragon Drop: Dragonberry Vodka, Triple Sec, Simple Syrup, & Fresh Lemon Juice

*Blue Wasabi: Recommended by a friend, I go here every time I visit. It is called Blue Wasabi since the wasabi is in fact, blue. They specialize in sushi & martini's and it is perfect for any time of the day. During happy hour, some rolls are discounted and the martini's are $5.

  • Spicy Edamame

  • Red Hot Chili Pepper Roll: Spicy tuna and cucumber topped with sashimi sliced tuna, spicy chili aioli & sriracha

  • Yo Adrian!: Cream cheese, krab and tempura green onion inside, topped with smoked salmon sashimi and chopped dill

  • Fried Pizza Rolls: Tomato, pepperoni, fresh basil and mozzarella cheese

  • Berry White Martini: Smirnoff Blueberry Vodka, blueberry infused sweet and sour and white cranberry juice

  • *Milky Way Martini: Burnetts whipped cream vodka, Dorda chocolate liqueur & vanilla cream

  • Wango Mango Martini: Pearl peach vodka, mango nectar with orange & cranberry splash

Cocktail Bars:

*AZ88: A very cool cocktail bar that has one of the best ambiances I've seen. Definitely a place that you would want to dress nicer but you are welcome to grab a seat, or stand at the bar if none are available - but I would recommend a reservation as it was very busy. They even have a $1,000 cocktail if you wanna splurge.

  • *Pornstar: Smirnoff vanilla vodka, vanilla syrup, passionfruit, lime juice, luxardo cherry, with a shot of Champagne.

  • Starburst: Smirnoff vanilla vodka, pineapple juice, strawberry puree, lemon juice.

Didn't get to enjoy but will once I return:

Brunch:

Snooze: A breakfast chain located out West that I have had a few times. Very good and has a good amount of options.

  • Defense up juice: OJ, Pineapple Juice, Mango Puree, Aerola Cherry Puree

  • Pancake flight (3): Confetti pancake (June Pride specialty), blueberry danish pancake, & strawberry shortcake pancake.

  • Breakfast taco: (Honestly one of the best breakfast taco's I've had)

  • Sandwich I Am: A soft pretzel roll filled with scrambled cage-free eggs, cheddar cheese and a sausage patty, served with a side of house-made smoked cheddar hollandaise.

The Morning Squeeze: A cute little breakfast spot!

  • Avocado toast: Avocado, lemon vinaigrette, heirloom tomato, microgreens, & goat cheese.

  • Chocolate chip french toast: SO good.

  • *Maso's Breakfast Potato Tacos: 4 potato tacos, lettuce, avocado, tomato, queso fresco, fried egg, green chili, cream, cilantro

  • CHRIS

  • Pineapple Mimosa

  • *The Kendall: Strawberry purée, lime juice, 818 tequila, & pineapple high noon

  • Tropical Breeze: Tropical red bull, rum, passion fruit, mango, & lime

Coffee:

Sip Coffee & Beer: A cute coffee/food/beer shop that has a lot to offer. Who doesn't want a coffee with a side of beer? Rumor has it - there is a speakeasy under the Arcadia Gateway location.

  • Bananas Foster Latte (it tasted more espresso-y than banana)

Bars:

Patties Dive Bar (in Scottsdale)

Mill Avenue (Popular street in Tempe)
